Scientology and Cinema at the Cinefamily

Tonight at the Cinefamily (used to be the Silent Theater here in LA) they did a night on Scientology.

They've been doing a series on Cults, so what better one than Scientology? It was sold out. This tells a bit of what happened. We forgot to tell one other highlight which was the screenwriter for Battlefield Earth ("JD") was there and told us some excellent stories of how Scientology had changed what he'd written. Later we heard from someone that David Miscavige was micromanaging every day of it, until it bombed. At that point Tom Cruise apparently came in and asked "What happened?" Dave said "I DO Not know...but had I been on it, it would have been VERY different."

After the shows there was a panel discussion with Conrad Romo, Spanky Taylor, Myself, Geir Isene http://isene.me/ and Hadrian. Re the Cinefamily: "The Cinefamily was founded in 2007 by brothers Dan and Sammy Harkham and Hadrian Belove, founder of Cinefile Video.
